The English translation by Nere Lete of the first Basque language detective novel has recently been published by the Center for Basque Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno. Lete is an associate professor in the Department of World Languages. The novel “Fifteen Days in Urgain,” by Jose Antonio Loidi, was a daring effort because at the time it was written, the use of the Basque language was officially prohibited.
